In a recent announcement to the Texas State University campus, Dr. C. Van Wyatt has announced that Carlos Solís has accepted the position of Associate Vice President for Instructional Technologies Support.  He will begin his duties on July 13, 2015. 

With over 20 years of experience in the area of instructional technology, Dr. Solís brings a wealth of knowledge to the position.  He is currently serving as the Assistant Director for Academic Technology Services at Rice University and previously as the Manager of Educational Technologies.  While at Rice University, he has provided leadership in the development of strategic approaches for the integration of technology into the educational environments.  In addition, he has experience working collaboratively with faculty to provide pedagogical and technical consulting to design, develop, and implement instructional content, courses, and projects that enrich teaching and learning through the use of technology in online, hybrid, and traditional courses.

Dr. Solís holds a B.S. in Biology from the Universidad del Valle – Guatemala and both an M.A. and Ph.D. in Biology from Rice University.
