Jacqueline Berkshire has been named Presbyterian College’s new vice president for advancement, College President Bob Staton announced today.

A graduate of James Madison University, Berkshire has served for the last three years as the vice president for operations and chief of staff of the Virginia Military Institute Foundation Inc. in Lexington, Va. At the foundation, which is the advancement arm of VMI, she was involved in all aspects of fundraising.

“We are excited about Jacki becoming a part of the leadership team at PC,” Staton said. “She is a strong, positive, and energetic leader and the right person at the right time to lead our advancement team. I look forward to introducing her to the campus and Clinton communities and having her engage our supporters.”

Berkshire’s professional experience also includes serving as the director of corporate and foundation relations at VMI and director of annual giving at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, La. She also has been an active volunteer, serving with the Lexington Chamber of Commerce and the Lexington Rotary Club.

“I am delighted to be joining PC’s leadership and advancement teams and embrace the many opportunities we share to impact the lives of young men and women,” Berkshire said. “I look forward to meeting my new colleagues and cultivating committed relationships with PC’s many supporters. These are both exciting and challenging times in higher education, and I am eager to play a role in securing PC’s bright future.”

Berkshire has four adult children, Andrew, Jacob, William, and Alexandra Bellairs.

She will begin her new duties at PC on July 17.
