Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi officials have announced Dr. Mark Hartlaub as the next Dean of the College of Liberal Arts.

Hartlaub has been a member of the College for 17 years and served as the interim dean since August. The promotion is pending approval of The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents.

“I am excited to have Dr. Hartlaub join us as the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts,” said Dr. Kelly Quintanilla, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. “His name rose to the top during our extensive search that included highly-qualified candidates from across the nation.”

Hartlaub came to Corpus Christi in 1998 to teach psychology. He has almost 10 years of experience in administrative leadership roles, having held positions as Associate Dean, Chair of the Department of Psychology and Speaker of the Faculty Senate.

“I am very honored to have been selected as the dean of the College of Liberal Arts,” Hartlaub said. “Each step in my career here has proved exciting and rewarding, and I am looking forward to developing a plan for the College and the School to make an impact in the community while always serving our students to the best of our ability.”

The CLA dean position was previously held by Quintanilla, who was promoted to Provost this summer.
