The University of Virginia’s College at Wise is a public, four-year residential liberal arts college located in the lush mountains of Southwest Virginia. As a COPLAC member institution, UVa-Wise is nationally-accredited and has been nationally-ranked among top public liberal art colleges in the U.S. UVa-Wise is home to Virginia’s only undergraduate degree program in software engineering. UVa-Wise offers 31 majors, 37 minors, and 17 teaching licensures. Established in 1954 as a division of the University of Virginia, it is guided by the values of citizenship and altruism. Proud of its Appalachian heritage, the College continues to honor its commitment of service to Southwest Virginia, the nation, and the world. Reporting directly to the Chancellor, the Vice Chancellor/Associate VC for Enrollment Management will utilize current trends, best practices and previous experience to target and grow UVa-Wise’s student body. Key responsibilities include developing a strategic enrollment management plan, broadening the visibility of the College and leveraging branding and new media marketing strategies; and leading the Office of Enrollment Management while maintaining compliance with federal, state, university, and College policies.
- Master’s degree;
- Minimum of five years of leadership experience in enrollment management;
- Proven success in setting and meeting enrollment goals;
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in recruitment of traditional and other student populations, financial aid administration, and scholarship leveraging;
- Knowledge of technological tools and systems used to support and deliver programs and services to prospective and current students;
- Strategic understanding of technology and social media in student marketing, recruitment, and engagement;
- An understanding and appreciation of the College’s liberal arts mission;
- Demonstrated success managing, empowering, motivating, and mentoring staff;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective, collaborative professional relationships with campus leaders, faculty, and staff to ensure College-wide collaborative enrollment efforts.
