The Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research and Sponsored Programs (AVCRSP) is a member of the university's professional staff reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Research and Sponsored Programs (VCRSP). This is an executive management position that will provide leadership, vision and advocacy necessary to develop and strengthen the university's research and creative programs.
The candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree with significant experience in research administration experience related to the job responsibilities. He or she will have a working knowledge of policies and procedures involved in working with major federal funding agencies, foundations and corporations. Successful candidates will demonstrate a background in the submission, management and close out processes, for grants and contracts.
The Assistant VC manages the sponsored programs administration operations of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. Duties include managing the entire cradle to grave process including proposal development, submission and closeout of grants and contracts related to research and creative activities. The position will work closely with the Office of Administration and Finance to ensure financial compliance. The position will be responsible for the business operations of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs including facility management, personnel management, and budget management for the Office.
